It was so fun chasing them around the waterpark! I love these little hooligans, and we had so much fun seeing Syl and Steve. They are moving to Virginia in the fall, so it was good to get a visit in before they leave us for the east coast.
We went and saw Brave in 3D. It was their first 3D movie. Sabrinna loved it, but Tanner didn't like keeping his glasses on. :)
They took this picture themselves with my phone. Is your heart melted yet? Cause mine sure is.
Thanks Steve and Syl for such a fun time!
Sunday morning, again at 6am, we began the problem free, but super sweaty 12 hour drive to Fort Worth.
Texas is flat as a pancake. This is a picture from the truck as we were getting close to Amarillo. Yes, we definitely listened to "Amarillo Skies" as we drove through. Thank you Mr. Aldean.
This little grasshopper hitch hiked on our windshield wiper for about 200 miles. What a lazy way to migrate!
AND I always thought it was just a stereotype, but everyone seriously has a southern drawl and says y'all.
Our apartment is great. It seems so big after our last place! It has higher ceilings and just a little more space in every room. We're on the 2nd floor, we have a cute little wood patio, a dishwasher-thank heavens, and a washer and dryer. It's already painted a light tan color which looks really good. This place is my blank canvas. I get to spend the next few years making it adorable. Here's our mantle so far, and the shower curtain I found and fell in love with!
This is Steven's suggestion for decor:
That's a Derek Fisher bobblehead, a Magic Johnson doll, a voodoo doll and alligator head from his mission, and Jerry West Doll. Unacceptable.
We're excited to be here and so far so good! It's crazy hot and humid (I love the hot, it's the humidity that kills me!), but we are here, and all unpacked, and ready to head to Aruba! Steven's parents live there and we'll get there tomorrow and stay until next Saturday. It'll be my first time leaving the country, and for a beautiful island none the less! Let's hope I come back super tan. :)

ReplyDeleteSo happy you arrived safe and sound! I will follow your blog. Can't wait to hear about Texas, they are lucky to have you! Miss you already! (I removed my first comment because I couldn't spell. I wouldn't make it as one of your fifth graders)
ReplyDeleteOh and, I love the temple picture! Just as you described :)
